Expert Tree Services Backed by a Full Outdoor Living Company

Trees are one of the most valuable assets on any property. They provide shade, privacy, and curb appeal. But when a tree becomes damaged, diseased, or simply outgrows its location, it becomes a liability. Evergreen's tree care division, led by Sergei Dorno since 2019, provides professional tree removal, trimming, pruning, stump grinding, lot clearing, and emergency storm damage response for homeowners and businesses across Delaware and the surrounding tri-state area.

What sets our tree care service apart is the depth of the company behind it. When a tree comes down, the work often is not finished. The stump needs grinding. The grade needs correction. New plantings may be needed to restore privacy screening. The surrounding landscape may need repair. Because Evergreen handles hardscaping, landscaping, grading, and drainage in-house, we can take a tree project from removal through complete property restoration without bringing in a second contractor.

Complete Tree Care for Every Situation

From routine maintenance pruning to emergency storm response, our tree division handles it all.

Tree Removal

Some trees need to come down. Dead or dying trees pose a direct falling hazard to homes, vehicles, and people. Trees with root systems that are undermining foundations, driveways, or retaining walls cause structural damage that worsens with every growing season. Trees that have been severely damaged by storms, disease, or insect infestation may be beyond recovery. In these situations, safe, controlled removal is the responsible course of action.

Our removal process starts with a thorough assessment of the tree's condition, lean direction, root structure, and proximity to structures, power lines, and neighboring properties. We develop a removal plan that accounts for every variable. For trees in tight spaces, we use sectional dismantling, rigging limbs and trunk sections down in controlled pieces rather than felling the entire tree at once. For trees in open areas with clear drop zones, conventional felling techniques are faster and more cost-effective. Every removal includes complete debris cleanup and haul-away. We leave your property clean.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

Regular trimming and pruning keeps trees healthy, structurally sound, and visually attractive. Crown thinning removes interior branches to improve air circulation and light penetration, reducing the conditions that promote fungal disease. Crown raising removes lower limbs to provide clearance for pedestrians, vehicles, mowers, and sightlines. Crown reduction reduces the overall size of a tree's canopy without compromising its natural shape, which is particularly important for trees that are growing into power lines or encroaching on structures.

We also perform deadwood removal, removing branches that have died but remain attached to the tree. Deadwood is a significant hazard because it can break free without warning in wind or ice events. For ornamental trees and specialty specimens, we provide detailed structural pruning that enhances the tree's natural form and promotes balanced growth over multiple seasons. All pruning cuts follow ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) standards to minimize wound size and promote proper healing.

Stump Grinding

After a tree is removed, the stump remains. Left in place, stumps are tripping hazards, mower obstacles, and breeding grounds for termites and carpenter ants. Our stump grinding equipment reduces stumps to a depth of 6 to 12 inches below grade, depending on the intended use of the area. For areas that will be replanted or sodded, we grind deeper and backfill with topsoil. For areas that will be paved or built on, we verify that the grind depth accommodates the base material depth required by the hardscape design. Stump grindings are either removed from the site or used as fill material in the cavity, depending on your preference.

Lot Clearing

New construction projects, pool installations, and large landscape renovations often require clearing all or part of a wooded lot. Our lot clearing service removes trees, brush, undergrowth, and stumps to prepare a site for construction. We work with homeowners to identify which trees should be preserved for shade, privacy, or aesthetic value, and we protect those trees with exclusion fencing during the clearing process. For large clearing jobs, we deploy skid steers, chippers, and dump trucks to process and remove material efficiently. Grading and erosion control are addressed as part of the clearing scope so the site is stable and construction-ready when we finish.

Emergency Storm Damage

Mid-Atlantic storms, including nor'easters, thunderstorms, and occasional hurricanes, can bring down trees and large limbs without warning. When a tree falls on your home, blocks your driveway, or hangs in a dangerous position over a structure, you need fast, professional response. Our emergency storm damage service is available to clear hazardous trees and debris as quickly as conditions allow. We prioritize situations involving structural contact (trees on roofs, cars, or power lines) and blocked access (driveway obstructions). After the immediate hazard is resolved, we return to complete full cleanup, stump grinding, and any necessary landscape restoration.

When to Call for Tree Service

Not every tree situation is obvious. Here are signs that indicate you should contact a professional: large dead branches visible in the canopy, mushrooms or fungal growth at the base of the trunk, significant lean that has developed or worsened over time, cracks or splits in the trunk or major limbs, roots visibly lifting sidewalks or driveways, excessive dieback in the upper canopy, and bark that is peeling or falling off in large sections. If you are uncertain about a tree's condition, we provide free assessments. Better to evaluate early than to deal with emergency removal after a failure.
